Overview
Her generally installation-based work proposes strategies to connect concepts that are presumed to be opposite, achieving this by standing on the thin line that emerges when they are assembled.
Her generally installation-based work proposes strategies to connect concepts that are presumed to be opposite, achieving this by standing on the thin line that emerges when they are assembled. It is characteristic of her work to bring opposing concepts into dialogue, such as ornament and emptiness, and to navigate them between drawing, painting, and installation. Her unique approach embraces ambiguity, the middle ground, uncertainty, and even failure as states of a creative process that makes aesthetic experience visible.
Biography

She studied Fine Arts at the National University of Colombia.

Her work, primarily installation-based, proposes strategies to connect concepts that are presumed to be opposite, achieving this by standing on the thin line that emerges when they are assembled.

In recent years, her projects have taken a more intimate and experiential path. The concept of ornament continues but is viewed from a hidden and almost sinister angle, departing from the beauty and architectural history to which it has typically been tied. This path sets aside ambiguity and focuses on the excavation of the ominous, the sinister, and the suspicious.

Recently, she exhibited her project "Tropel de Viejas Novedades" in the Artecámara section of ARTBO, a project that originated in 2016 during her artistic residency at Flora ARS+NATURA. Her projects "Una habitación para la sombra" from the exhibition "Nuevos Nombres," and "Cruces y Cauces" from the Regional Image Salon 8, were displayed at the Miguel Urrutia Art Museum (MAMU).
